Updating Firefox or turning off conflicting plugins are among steps you can take to solve the problem.

A third-party plugin may be causing problems for Firefox when working with Facebook. Open up the Add-ons Manager from the main Firefox menu to disable add-ons one-by-one. Restart the browser each time to see if the switch fixes the problem. Commence with extensions specifically related to Facebook before moving on to other plugins. If you do identify an add-on as being the root cause of the problem, check for an update to the plugin or contact the developer directly for advice.

Facebook

It’s unlikely but not unlikely that a problem with the Facebook site is causing it to malfunction in Firefox. Open up the social networking site in an alternative browser such as Internet Explorer or Google Chrome to see if the issue persists. If it does, a Facebook issue or an issue with a third-party program is likely to be to blame. Check the official Facebook status page (link in Resources) to see if there are any known problems with the Facebook platform.

Another possibility is that a third-party program, typically an anti-virus or firewall application, is interfering with Facebook’s normal operation when viewed in Firefox.
