PS4 In-Game Movie Talk Shown in PlayStation Display ‘Powers’
The PlayStation Network’s TV showcase Powers may have exposed a concept for the PS4’s in-game movie talk.
A scene from Powers shows a masculine character playing a PlayStation Four. A screenshot from the scene, as seen below, shows a female character using the name Chaotic Chick in a movie talk box on the same screen as an Infamous: 2nd Son clone which is being played by the character in the showcase.
This is in no way confirmation of movie talk functionality and how it will look on PS4. However, Sony hopes to have movie talk on PS4 in Q2 two thousand fifteen through an app called ooVoo, according to a CES two thousand fifteen interview with ooVoo Vice President Brian Liebler, which was posted on YouTube by user SamueltehG33k. Oovoo on the PS4 would function similarly to Microsoft’s Skype on Xbox One.
Liebler also says the company would like to implement a streaming feature, permitting two users to view the content at the same time while movie talking. The ooVoo movie talk app is presently available on PC, Mac, and mobile devices.
Powers premiered on PlayStation Network on March Ten. The very first gig is free for all viewers and the utter very first season is free to PlayStation Plus subscribers.
IGN reviewed Power’s pilot scene, providing it a 7.Four and telling “it holds promise” despite “some obstacles to overcome.” Check out IGN’s total breakdown of Powers, including everything you need to know and more about Sony’s original series.
